Heart Problems symptoms
Symptoms that may involve the heart or blood vessels and need careful assessment.
- Chest pain Chest pain can feel like pressure, tightness, burning, heaviness or sharp pain. Because serious heart and lung problems can feel similar to less serious causes, new or worrying chest pain should be assessed quickly.
- Heart attack People often use "heart attack" for severe chest pressure, sweating, breathlessness or collapse. These symptoms can be life-threatening and need emergency care because only urgent assessment can confirm the cause.
- High blood pressure High blood pressure often has no symptoms, but some people notice headache, dizziness, chest discomfort or blurred vision. Repeated high readings should be discussed with a clinician because long-term high pressure can affect the heart, brain and kidneys.
